Program for Women
Caring Mental Health Support for Women
At the Excel Center of Katy, we provide women with evidence-based mental health treatment in an understanding, healing environment
Leveraging talk therapy and psychoeducation with a focus on improving mental health, coping skills, relationships and personal development, this program offers therapeutic support and assistance to women. Our nurturing treatment community is designed so that women can receive support and share their experiences with others. The trauma-informed methodology assesses where you are in your journey so that you can understand the effect trauma has had on your well-being and define the best course of action.
Within our group programming, we incorporate concepts of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and expressive therapies such as mindfulness, art, music and yoga. Our trauma-focused treatment approach focuses on brief intervention and solution-focused therapies.
We help you find better ways of coping with distress. Together, we identify the key issues and challenges you and your therapist will want to address. You are encouraged to develop new life skills, using evidence-based techniques to help them overcome personal issues and accomplish their goals.
Some of the topics we cover in treatment include:
- Emotion regulation
- Grief and loss
- Cognitive distortions
- Core beliefs
- Assertiveness/conflict resolution
- Personal goals development
- Life change adjustment
- Safety plan development
